Project Name:
The Casual Kings Official Web Site
Project Timeline:  July, 2011 - August, 2011
Project Status:  Completed
Concept:  Having been a long-time fan of The Casual Kings I felt extremely proud when Rhett, Mike and the guys asked me to work on a new Web Site for the band.  When it comes to creative freedom, these guys really know how to let it all hang out.  I was essentially encouraged to do what I felt with only a few restrictions to consider.  Colors were specified as was the idea of integrating a show calendar along with an audio player.  Beyond that, I was allowed to go with my gut.  The overall design of the new Site shows off the bold yet relaxed tones of The Casual Kings while hinting slightly to the hardcore urban alt rock sound we've all grown to crave.  Social networking integration was a must due to the huge fan-following already in place at Sites like Facebook, Reverbnation, Bandcamp, etc.  The new Bustin' Thru' EP released in early 2011 was something we needed to promote througout the Site as well.  When completed, TheCasualKings.com opened it's Internet doors to a flood of fans who have since made it their daily pit-stop for everything and anything The Casual Kings.

Project Name:
  Moving Mercury Official Web Site
Project Timeline:  July, 2010 - August, 2010
Project Status:  Completed
Concept:  To create a new Official Web Site for the freshly revived band, Moving Mercury (FKA S-Tribe).  Drummer Larry Gornto expressed his desire to reinvent the band's image using bold colors, and big text.  As Moving Mercury completed work on their new EP, It's Not The Same Time Everywhere, plans were underway to debut the Web Site in conjunction with the new EP.  With nearly 2 months to work on the planning, design, configuration, and testing, time was not an issue.  Band members Gabriel, Mike, and Charles Funk threw in some suggestions along the way but for the most part, the first Site cut was left to my imagination.  Larry and the rest of Moving Mercury were very pleased with the completed Site and after some tweaking, Moving Mercury.com went Live in August of 2010.

A Family Affair Web Site

Project Name:
  A Family Affair Web Site
Project Timeline:  February, 1999 - March, 1999
Project Status:  Completed
Concept:  In 1999 I decided to create a singular online presence (A Family Affair) for my personal family.  The Wilkinson, Johnson, Knight, Bozart, and Carpenter families had grown to the point where letters and the occasional email no longer served the purpose there were originally intended for.  In an attempt to ease the transition into the "Online World" for all involved, including the Great Grandparents, I created a Web Site designed with the novice user/member in mind.  Pre-screened members are granted access to an exclusive upload area which allows them to upload images, articles, videos, files, documents, etc. to be accessed, viewed, and downloaded by other members.  The ability to share resources across all members of the family ensured no one would be left out of the loop when it came to "Family Business" and "Family Fun".  Members are managed via the Joomla User Manager and Newsletters are distributed to members who have enabled the option to receive newsletters, notifications, etc.  Online for more than 12 years, A Family Affair is my first true introduction to a full-featured, Community-based, share-point type Web Site.

Groovy Gamer Web Site

http://www.groovygamer.com

Project Name:
  Groovy Gamer Web Site
Project Timeline:  May, 2009 - June, 2009
Project Status:  Completed
Concept:  Groovy Gamer was a very unique project.  The Client representing the Groovy Gamer organization had many requests in addition to the usual Web Site "stuff".  Among those requests was the integration of a "Reward Points" system which enabled Web Site members to accumulate "GG Points" which would then be redeemed for prizes.  The integration of such a system marked a first for SMK Web Design but was just the challenge we sought to broaden our design horizons.  A Web Site Community Component was also developed for this project.  All Site members have the ability to create their own personal Profile Page displaying their gaming activities, online identities, trading details, and other member-specific information dictated by the member personally.  A Banner Ad management system was also included as requested by the Client.  To date Groovy Gamer gains new members each and every day.  Although the Gaming Industry has taken an amazing upturn in popularity as of late, Groovy Gamer continues to represent itself as one of the premier Gaming Community Web Sites on the Internet.

Pro Se Solutions, Inc. Web Site

Project Name:
Pro Se Solutions, Inc. Web Site
Project Timeline:  January, 2011 - February, 2011
Project Status:  Completed
Concept:  Pro Se Solutions, Inc. first commissioned SMK Web Design in early 2000.  The company's owner had a desire to take her business to the Internet while maintaining a local look and feel to the company's Web Presence.  For years the old Site served its purpose.  Now however, Pro Se Solutions, Inc. has grown exponetially and as a result, the tired old Site needed some revitalizing.  Having worked with this Client for more than 11 years I felt as though I knew more about her expectations than she did.  The owner allowed us to run with the new design and do what we felt.  After 2 weeks the final design was approved and within a month of our first project meeting, the new Site was complete.
